Benzeliusskolan is a F-6 school located about 8 km from Luleå city center. The school has 180 students. At Benzeliusskolan, we work with Pax in the lower grades. New training opportunities will be available for those who do not have PAX with them. We invest a lot in physical activities for the students and have, among other things, sports breaks several days a week. With walking distance to the sea and the forest, a rich and varied nature is offered for study. All educators have a broad competence and are well updated on governing documents and new research findings. The school has a good mix of ages and professional experiences. All educators work together to give students the best conditions for success now and in the future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will, together with your colleagues, be responsible for planning, executing, evaluating, and developing the activities of the After-School Center based on the national governing documents. All with a focus on students' development and learning by harnessing their enthusiasm and curiosity while promoting a safe and accepting environment. Working as a teacher in the After-School Center means that during school hours, you support the students and work to create an accessible school situation and a learning environment that works for the student/students in collaboration with other staff. Before and after school, as well as during school holidays, you will work with colleagues to ensure that our students have a meaningful leisure time in an environment that promotes safety, social awareness, and independence. Together with your colleagues, you will create the best school for each student from a full-day perspective.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a teacher in the After-School Center with qualifications in art or physical education as a priority. We see that you are engaged and have good collaborative skills. You have clear leadership and a good ability to meet all students where they are in their knowledge development. You have a teaching license and are a qualified teacher for the After-School Center, but other qualifications/competencies may also be considered, such as a teacher for grades F-3.

We consider it important that you can contribute to the school's value foundation work through a democratic approach and by being a good role model. You have the ability to build relationships with and between students, can clearly set structure and frameworks to ensure safety, and that students have a good working environment. Furthermore, you have the ability to establish good collaboration with colleagues, guardians, and other professionals inside and outside the school. It is advantageous if you have good IT skills for the continued work with digital development.

If you obtain the position, you must submit an approved extract from the criminal record.

Start date January 19 or by agreement, ongoing interviews will be conducted, and the position may be filled before the application period ends.
